STAR RENTAL CARS BOOKING POLICIES
Malo e lelei and welcome to Star Rental Cars. Please review our booking policies before confirming your reservation.
1. Reservations
Book through www.starrentalcar-tonga.com, email rentals.tonga@gmail.com, or call +676 7746630.
Please ensure your rental dates, pickup and return times, locations, vehicle selection, and contact details are correct. Your booking is confirmed once you receive confirmation from Star Rental Cars.
2. Driver Age Requirements
All drivers must be at least 21 years old and present proof of age when collecting the vehicle.
A young driver surcharge may apply to drivers under 25. Any applicable charge will be advised before your booking is confirmed.
3. Required Documents
The main driver must provide:
A valid driver’s licence.
A credit card in their name, unless alternative arrangements have been approved.
A completed credit card authorisation form, where required.
An international driving permit, where applicable.
Additional drivers must be approved by Star Rental Cars and provide a valid driver’s licence before driving the vehicle.
4. Payment and Booking Security
Payments are not processed online. Credit card details are required to secure and confirm your booking. Rental payment will be collected upon arrival.
A 4% surcharge applies to payments made by credit or debit card. This fee will be shown separately and added to the amount being paid by card before payment is processed.
Any security deposit, bond, or card authorisation requirement will be advised before your booking is confirmed.
For your security, do not send your full credit card number, CVV/security code, or a completed form containing these details through ordinary email. Please use our designated booking system or contact us to arrange a secure submission method.
All prices and charges are in Tongan pa?anga (TOP) unless stated otherwise.
5. Booking Changes and Cancellations
Please contact us as soon as possible to change or cancel your booking.
A cancellation fee of 10% of the total rental charge applies to cancellations made within 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time.
Booking changes are subject to vehicle availability and may affect the rental price.
6. Vehicle Pickup and Return
Vehicles must be collected and returned at the locations and times stated in your booking confirmation. Please provide your flight details when arranging airport collection.
Airport service fees are:
Airport pickup: TOP $50.
Airport return: TOP $50.
Both airport pickup and return: TOP $100 in total.
These fees apply unless already included in your confirmed quotation.
Contact us in advance to arrange after-hours collection, a late return, or a rental extension. Airport self-return instructions will be provided where applicable.
7. Fuel, Car Washing and Vehicle Condition
We operate a full-to-full fuel policy. Your vehicle will be supplied with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. Refuelling charges apply if the vehicle is returned with less fuel.
Normal exterior washing is included in your rental. Please remove rubbish and return the interior reasonably clean.
Additional cleaning charges may apply for excessive dirt, sand, stains, or strong odours requiring cleaning beyond normal vehicle preparation.
Please return the vehicle in the same condition as supplied, allowing for fair wear and tear.
8. Collision Damage Cover and Excess
Standard rental charges include collision damage cover, subject to the rental agreement, with a standard excess of TOP $3,000.
Optional excess reduction is available for TOP $20 per day, reducing the excess to TOP $2,000.
This cover applies to collision damage only. It does not include theft, personal belongings, or third-party liability. Please review your rental agreement for the full conditions and exclusions.
All accidents, damage, or vehicle faults must be reported to Star Rental Cars immediately.
